Punch & Prettification March 15 at Myrtle’s Punch House!

We’re teaming up with Myrtle’s Punch House and EVER Skin Care with Andie Wafzig to bring you Punch & Prettification on March 15! I’m so excited to be working with two of my good friends, Andie and Molly, on this super fun event.

Both of these amazing ladies believe in using the best, natural, and good-for-you ingredients. Actually, many people don’t know this but Molly hand-makes a lot of her own syrups and mixers for her cocktails to keep them as fresh and preservative free as possible. And my gal Andie is all about “results come naturally” natural but SUPER effective, good-for-you skincare.

And if you don’t believe that natural skincare can do the job, just check out these before and after results on my stretch marks! A video on my facial products is coming soon and it’s just as wowing. Seriously, you’ll want to check this stuff out for yourself, and you can in-person, with a fun cocktail in hand, at this awesome event!

Chic Review: Worthy Yoga

Located in the heart of Mariemont, WORTHY Yoga is a faith based practice. It’s a light bright, open, simple and welcoming space.

The owner – Brenda Westfall, who also teaches some of the classes, says it’s part of an International Training Program called Holy Yoga, where she completed both her 200 hr and 300 hr Master’s level training. Many of their other instructors have been trained through Holy Yoga, too.

It’s a brand that fuses physical postures and breath work, to strengthen and make the body more flexible, with a type of yoga that emphasizes the opening of the heart to divine love, to strengthen your faith and devotion to Christ.

What they do a bit differently at WORTHY, versus your traditional yoga studio, is open with prayer and set an intention or theme for the practice based on a passage from scripture. They welcome, and respect, all faiths and denominations.

Then, from there, it’s 100% yoga. They offer a variety of classes all throughout the week and weekend from gentle, slow flow and a more meditation-focused class, to a Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Flow or even a Barre class.

There are no mirrors in the entire space by design… they want you to feel the pose, not see the pose, and not to feel any competition – just a lot of grace. Love that.

You can check out their full class schedule, get location info, introductory offer/class pass and pricing details, and learn more about what makes WORTHY unique and awesome at worthyyoga.com

Chic Review: Ultimate Air Shuttle

Ultimate Air Shuttle offers public charter service. Basically, flying without the fuss. No time wasted parking, going through security, or waiting long lines, easy boarding, VIP flight service, lots of leg room. Plus, no parking or baggage fees, no cancellation penalty for changes made at least 24-hours in advance, and late check-in up to 15 minutes before time of departure.

They provide jet shuttle service with 30-passenger jets to New York City, Chicago, Charlotte, Cleveland, and new to the list Atlanta. All destinations are serviced from Cincinnati’s Lunken Airport.

You can fly in and out on the same date if you have a meeting or event, or you can depart and return on different days according to their schedule — we flew out on a Thursday and came back on a Monday. In our time there, did a lot of sightseeing, met some new friends, and even made a big announcement that we’re expecting Baby #3! Such a fun long weekend get-away!

Not only did Ultimate Air Shuttle make the flight easy, they can also help you arrange Ground Transportation via public and private car or shuttle service. We took a shuttle that dropped us off and then picked us up right the heart of the city. Easy peasy.

The flights are quick, lots of leg room, and you get complimentary snacks and drinks on your flight. For Morning Departure you get a yummy light breakfast and Evening Departures get an individual Fruit, Cheese, and Meat tray. And did I mention complimentary drinks? I had to take a raincheck on the cocktails this trip, but I’ll DEFINITELY be doing this again. Highly recommended.

Chic Review: WAITRESS

Coming Jan. 9–21 to the Aronoff, Waitress is a MUST see show that features original music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles. I saw families, girlfriend groups, and solos there to see this fun new hit.

Brought to life by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, Waitress tells the story of Jenna – a waitress and expert pie maker – who dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life in her own way. It’ll make you laugh, cry and want to eat a whole pie in one sitting… which by the way, they do sell the cutest little pies there at the show and they’re deeeee-lish! Definitely recommend the pie, and ABSOLUTELY recommend the show!

But keep in mind: Shows like this often bring out the worst tickets scams. Don’t get scammed – be sure you are buying at CincinnatiArts.org, the official Aronoff Center Ticketing Site, not a 3rd party ticket seller that may come up in a Google search.

Knee Pain? Check Out itBandz

Happy New Year! As my first post of 2018, I thought I’d start with a resolution-themed tip about something that helped me a TON.

Last year, just a few months after having my second daughter, I made a resolution to get in shape again. Yes, I know, join the club, right? Well, I took it a step further and signed up for a full marathon (the Columbus Marathon) in October 2017!

Things were going great as I got ramped up. Started with walking and elliptical, eased my way into running a few minutes with some walking breaks, and then got to running several miles non-stop. But once I got into some serious mileage (15-20 miles a week), I started to have some really serious pain in my knees. I was worried that it was going to put my whole marathon on hold, so I immediately did research on what could help.

After digging through LOTS of potions and products online with mixed or dismal reviews, I found that people — especially runners — were raving about these itBandz. They looked easy to use and weren’t expensive (about $20), so I decided to try it out.

I couldn’t believe it. This little band, worn right under my patella (knee cap), took my pain from a solid 9 to a mere 2 or 3. It works by stabilizing the knee, and it’s made with a moisture-wicking, stay-in-place material so there’s no rubbing or chafing, even on the longest runs. I can honestly say it single-handedly helped me to continue my marathon training as planned!

Turns out, there’s a reason my knees were suddenly hurting, aside from more mileage. I found out this summer that I’m pregnant and hormones are loosening my ligaments in preparation for baby #3!

So, now, even after my marathon, I’ve continued to wear my itBandz because of these crazy hormones and loose tendons. Definitely helps to ease joint pain and keep me moving, which is a MUST keeping after two kiddos and preparing for one on the way! (Due April 1!)

Just thought I’d share my story because I know a lot of people are making resolutions this time of year to get back in the saddle and get active again. But that often comes with new aches and pains that can sideline us if we can’t find relief. If this is you, I definitely recommend trying out itBandz!

Car Perks and Amenities at Performance Lexus RiverCenter

Not only does Performance Lexus Rivercenter have the friendliest staff EVER and a beautiful dealership in Covington that’s conveniently right across the river from downtown Cincinnati, but there are SO many awesome perks and amenities — here are a few of my favorites:
– You get a free Lexus loaner vehicle for any service over two hours
– Or they’ll do pickup and delivery for your service at no charge!
– They also do a Car to Curb valet service to CVG & Lunken! Just drop your vehicle off for service while you’re out of town and they take you to the airport and pick you up after!
– They do a “Lexpress” 31 minute oil change which INCLUDES a hand car wash
– I love coming in for their complimentary car washes. I love hanging out in their lounge that’s complete with complimentary refreshments, snacks, lots of different coffees, and warm gooey yummy Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. So good. They also have private work stations with phones if you need a quiet space to work. There’s also a kids area, outside lounge and free wifi.
Performance Lexus Rivercenter is SO much more than just a dealership, which is why I’m now on my car #2 that I’ve bought there! Love it! I definitely encourage you to stop by and check it out for yourself and learn more at lexusrivercenter.com
