I just came across this sale and thought it looked too special not to share! In case you don’t know about Dress for Success, it’s a great place for you to donate professional clothes so less fortunate women can wear fab fashions to snag a snazzy new job and keep it! We wrote about DFS and its corresponding 4th St. Boutique here on Cincy Chic.
On May 6, The Pink Box in Hyde Park is having a 10% off sale, and they’re donating an extra 10% to DFS. Also, you can bring in handbags and accessories to donate to DFS. See below for more information! (click on it to enlarge)
If you haven’t been to The Pink Box, it’s a must-visit boutique… especially if you don’t have that Mother’s Day gift yet. It has awesome jewelry and gift items that moms would love love love. And if you get 10% off and 10% goes to charity, that means you can buy 20% more, right? That’s my kind of math! : )
My friends at Saks recently sent me an event invite and a coupon, and told me I could share it with you.
The event, cleverly named “Choos Your Shoes” is a night to pamper and spa with your friends while shoe shopping. Not unlike what my heaven will look like…
If you do realize that you have a few Benjamins to spare (I unfortunately do not thanks to house renovations and landscaping bills…boo) and spring for a new pair of Jimmy Choos, you’ll get a free Choo 24:7 tote bag. I talked about the new 24:7 line here.
Saks also sent me a coupon to share with you. BTW, I’m not being paid to tell you about this and I don’t get any residuals if you use this, just so you know. I just want to share in case you were planning on buying something, and could use the discount!
I’m on the hunt for some new mascara (aren’t we all). I read this article about the top five mascaras based on expert reviews, so I’m going to stop in and give them a try and use my coupon if I decide to make a purchase! I’ll let you know if any of the mascaras rock my world! : ) Have a great weekend!
In January, Cincy Chic caught wind of Cincinnati’s first-ever Fashion Week. After squealing like little school girls in excitement, we talked with Nathan the organizer and wrote a story about the week’s festivities.
Granted, that story was written in January, so a lot has changed and developed. You can go to CincinnatiFashionWeek.com and get all the up-to-date info about THIS WEEK’s festivities. That’s right. This week … is… CINCINNATI FASHION WEEK!
Tonight is the VIP night where I get to meet all the designers in town for CFW. I’ll be posting pics and videos throughout the week from my experiences at the CFW festivities.
I also just got an email from Fetish Boutique saying that they’re giving a discount if you just mention CFW, so that’s pretty cool! Fetish recently changed owners. Click here to learn more about the new owner and what she plans to do with the store. And read info below for details about the sale at Fetish (copy and pasted from the message I just received from her email distribution)
This week is the first ever Cincinnati Fashion Week, and Fetish is extremely
excited to be participating in the week long festivities!!!! To celebrate
Fetish will be offering a 25% discount all week to any customer mentioning
“Cincinnati Fashion Week!”

I live in a teeny tiny Sears catalog home, so needless to say, I don’t have ample room for clothing. So, my clothing wardrobe is actually pretty basic and minimalistic. I tend to add spice and flair to my outfits with new jewelry instead of new clothes. And I found the perfect opportunity to stock up. I just found out Missy & Jack in Mason is having a 50% off sale on their jewelry this weekend. I always love her jewelry… it’s big and chunky, fun and fabulous, costume-y but oh-so-chic. If that’s the kind of jewelry you like too, it sounds like this is a must-shop sale for you!
FYI, I found out about this sale from Missy & Jack’s e-mail distribution (she sent it literally a few minutes ago… this is my kind of “breaking news” haha!). She also announced sales like this on her Facebook page. Click here to see a story we recently wrote on Cincy Chic about local businesses who announce sales like this on their social media sites. I found it helpful for finding out about great deals like this. Hope you do too!
Just got this email from Alligator Purse last night about a Theory Trunk Show today. A rep from the Theory line is coming in from New York to be at the show. Wish I would have known about it earlier, I would have stopped in. I really like Theory. Especially their dresses. I could see myself in every single one of the dresses posted on their site. They’re professional enough to wear to work or at a work function, and fashionably funky enough to wear out with the girls. Hopefully you can stop in to Alligator Purse today to see the show. Perfect day for a glass of wine on Teller’s rooftop patio and a stroll in Hyde Park, too! Ah, the life I’d live if I didn’t have to work…
PS: They sponsored our Bras with Flair on the Square fashion show last year. Click here for all the fab fashions they had in the show. I loved them all!
I am in love. His name? Joey Eric.
Don’t worry, my hubby still has my heart. But Joey Eric has my wardrobe.
I just discovered this fabulous boutique on Facebook. They’re up in Dayton, but well worth the drive. If you’re familiar with the area, they’re at the Greene (it’s kind of like Rookwood, but even cooler because there are loft condos there too… yes, you can now live in the middle of an open-air mall. Hello, heaven.)
What caught my attention on FB was a picture someone posted of a cute vintage “Cincy” t-shirt. A local artist designed it and the other Ohio-related tees they sell at Joey Eric. I don’t wear t-shirts often, but I would buy one of these! They’re only $25-28 and they ship for free, so you don’t even need to make the drive if you don’t want to!
They also sell super cute “designer inspired” handbags, sunglasses, jewelry, denim and clothing.
I get asked all the time which spa, salon, boutique, etc. are my favorites. And I hate to pick favorites because I want to stay objective for editorial, and on the sales side, we have a lot of different clients who would get grumpy if they weren’t a fav. But sometimes I can’t help myself…
***imagine me climbing to the top of a mountain right now***
I LOVE THE WOODHOUSE SPA!!!!
There. I said it. It’s my favorite spa. Ever. Above and beyond any and every spa I’ve ever been to around the world. Woodhouse is my favorite. Let me count the ways:
- They are not a spa/salon, so you can actually relax without hearing the stylists yak in the neighboring room about their dates last weekend. And you don’t have to breathe in hairspray fumes when your massage therapist tells you to take a deep breath.
- When you walk in, it just smells like tranquility. They always have the same scent, which is important because that scent brings back memories of all the other times I was there and had an enjoyable, relaxing time. At other spas, it always smells different, and that’s not as comforting to me.
- They have the best, and fluffiest, robes ever. I swear they were made out of clouds.
- They have awesome pre-packaged “all day getaways” which are great gifts – to yourself or someone else. I just gave my event planner and all her interns these all day packages and you would have thought it was Christmas. They loved it. Just a heads up, they have lots of Mother’s Day packages on here!
- They go get Starbucks for you if you want something more special than their in-house teas and coffees.
- They sell products from local artists in their lobby. (They are a chain spa, but they try to localize as much as possible. And I’ve been to other Woodhouse Spas in other cities, and Cincinnati has them beat by far)
- They have the best men’s spa treatments. And they aren’t emasculating fru-fru treatments, either. They have a separate men’s lounge, which is super masculine compared to the women’s lounge. And then they have a huge menu of services specifically tailored and developed for the man. One of the owners of the Woodhouse is male (it’s a husband and wife who own it), so he makes sure his gender is well represented and taken care of at the Woodhouse!
- They use all-natural products, so you’re not putting any harsh chemicals on your body. In fact, in this story Cincy Chic wrote about The Woodhouse Spa, the owner said “You could eat any of the products we use.” I wouldn’t recommend it, but hey, it’s nice to know it’s an option.
- Because all their products – from foot scrubs to facial creams – are all are certified organic and natural, it’s the perfect place to send my die-hard vegans and vegetarians. If they don’t want things in their body, why would they want to put it on their body… the skin is an organ too, right?
- If you’re a big recycler (I try to be), they recycle everything possible – even the little aluminum casings of their votive candles!
Ok, I could go on for days, but I should probably cut to the chase of why I’m writing. I got a notification that the Woodhouse is doing a buy one service (50 minutes or longer) and get one free on April 6 only, while spots last!
That’s a great deal! I’ve been a client of theirs since they opened three years ago, and I haven’t seen them do a sale like this before. Get in while the gettin’s good, girlfriend!
I just caught wind that Alligator Purse is having a super sale this morning. They’re calling it a “morning dash” sale and it’s only from 8-10am this morning. So, sneak in before work … blame it on the traffic… dog… your kids… whatever you have to do! : ) Alligator Purse doesn’t have store-wide sales like this often! Here’s the email I received with all the info! Happy Dashing!
Alligator Purse invites you to a “Morning Dash Sale,” just in time for your Spring getaway!

The other day my hubby, the in-laws and I went to dinner at Teller’s in Hyde Park. We got an after-dinner coffee at Awakenings right down the block. On the way there, we passed Snap Boutique and they had the most adorable outfits in the window.
They were closed, but I did go online and “friend” them on Facebook and Twitter. We’ve written about them before in Cincy Chic, but I thought (for some reason) they were a teeny-bopper boutique and not for me. But after window shopping, I decided they were right up my alley, and I needed to stay up to date on all their new arrivals and sales!
Yesterday, Snap posted pics of their new Spring looks on their Facebook page and I am absolutely in love with each and every one of them. Just looking at them makes me a little warmer thinking about the spring-time sunshine, the smell of freshly cut grass and butterflies flitting about. (Which is much appreciated after last night’s random snow fall… what was up with that?)
Even better, on the Facebook page, it says you will get 10% off your purchase of one of these new Spring dresses (pictured to your right) if you come in and purchase this weekend! You don’t usually see discounts on new arrivals, and plus these are SUPER cute dresses, so I thought this was worthy of a blog post! I will definitely be visiting this weekend to see which dress looks best on! I will update if I make any purchases! : )
Come on SPRING!
We all have that super cool, fun, creative friend who we go to when we need a little artsy inspiration for a project …or just a good laugh. For me, that girl is Kristen Folzenlogen, the owner of Poeme in Hyde Park.
I don’t get to hang out with her nearly enough, but I love being around her. She always knows about some new hip company starting up or new product line… and I love visiting her store. She always has kitschy little gifts, the funniest cards, oh, and the BEST window displays. Kristen actually helped me design the Cincy Chic window display at our office in the Gateway Quarter!
A while back, Kristen told me about this new company called 1154 Lill Studio, which makes custom cloth handbags. We did a story on them a few months ago, and our readers loved it. So, when I got an email from Kristen and Poeme about Lill Studio having a sale at Poeme, I thought I’d tell you about it! Especially since there’s a 10% off coupon! Mother’s Day is coming up!
