Got (Bridal) Junk in Your Trunk?

I just found out about this event, and I love it for many reasons… two of which being: 1) it’s a great idea 2) saying “junk in your trunk” is fun. 🙂 Check out this event (details pasted below)! Sounds like an awesome opportunity to trim down your trunk of bridal stuff you don’t want or need any more, and it’s also the perfect opportunity to snag a good deal on fab finds for your big day!

Call your Grammy and tell her to pull out the good stuff… it’s time to make a little cash. This April 1st from 12pm to 6pm, we’ll be holding our first Bridal Junk in the Trunk Bonanza–an event that will allow to-be-brides to come shop for those must-have items for their wedding and recent brides or everyday collectors to unload their treasure while making a few extra bucks.

You’ve browsed the forums, scoured craigslist and even hit up ebay, but there’s something about not only seeing an item in person, but seeing it set up just how you picture it in your mind at your wedding. That’s what we’ll do for you– this won’t be set up like your neighborhood yard sale. Nope, we’re going to use the items that you drop off to create beautifully styled tables so you can see just how all these pieces can look at your own wedding.

If you’re interested in selling some of your goods, contact brides@915monmouth.com to get your items registered, a vendor number and your paperwork all set to go before March 24, 2012. All we’ll need is your contact information, a list of your items and photos of those items if you have them. There will be a small fee based upon the number of items you have to sell, which we can figure up for you quickly after you send over your inventory. If you need help with how to price your items, we’re happy to help with that, as well.

Here are a few examples of items we’re looking for from you (but don’t feel limited to these items- we just want your best stuff!)

  • Vintage books
  • Crates
  • Mason jar
  • Jars in general
  • Cake stands
  • Apothecary jars
  • Unique vases
  • Bud vases
  • Unique containers
  • Handmade items
  • Table number holders
  • Frames

If you have any questions, feel free to email brides@915monmouth.com

If you’re bride looking for something specific, email us and let us know! We can do our best to try and hook you up!

“Finishing Touches” Trunk Show

Some of my favorite ladies in the bridal biz are hosting a fun little trunk show this weekend at their studio (The Bridal Studio) in Covington.

I’ve done a couple blogs with Nancy from Brideface at the Studio. And whenever I go to see her, I always notice all the cute accessories in the shop. Great necklaces, pins and hair pieces. They also have funny cards and kitschy gifts.

Don’t let the name “The Bridal Studio” fool you. Not all their stuff is bridal. In fact, a lot of their cards, gifts and accessories can be used, worn or given for any occasion.

Sorry, got sidetracked… ah, yes, trunk show… they are having a trunk show this weekend. They’re calling it the “‘Finishing Touches’ Trunk Show.” It’ll take place this Sunday from 12-4pm at 610 Main St Covington KY. They invited all their favorite Bridal Studio accessory designers to show you what’s hot for spring and talk about the latest trends. The trunk show will feature T Beads, Oskar Simone and Pin Me Up Couture (wrote about Pin Me Up Couture in a previous blog here). Also, hairstylist Jen Nally will also be on hand for quick updo ideas with hair flowers and birdcage veils.

Again, you don’t have to be a bride-to-be to come to the show. I will be going to check out their jewelry and funky hair pieces. I just love how flower pins and feather headbands look in short hair!

I asked April from Bluebird Photography (another one of the Studio owners) to send some pics so you could see the shop and some of the items that will be featured at this weekend’s show! Enjoy!
