Review: Personal Shopping by Your Stylist LLC

In February, I got a Closet Audit by Your Stylist LLC, and told you all about it (so fun and I learned so much!) During the Closet Audit, Jackie assesses your style and which key pieces you might be missing. Then, the next step, is that she provides her expertise as a Personal Shopper.

You set your budget and then she determines which stores will have the perfect additions to your wardrobe. She bases this decision mainly based on your style and budget, but what I love about it, is that because she does this for a living, she knows WHEN to shop for the best sales, selections, new arrivals, and things like that. Things that a “normal” person would never know. And because of that, you get the items that are the best fit for you, at the best price.

Which by the way, these services aren’t for the rich and famous. We actually calculated up how much she was saving the client she was there at a the store for. Her client had designer taste but a bargain budget, and just by Jackie knowing about certain sales and savings events, she was able to get lots of “looks for less” that MORE than paid for her services.

As for pricing, it’s a flat rate of $150 to get a complete a pre-shop prior to your shopping trip together. This saves a ton of time, travel …and probably your sanity. All you have to do is show up and try on!

Jackie makes it REALLY easy on you, by setting all the items you need, and even taking the time to find coordinating pieces and accessories, so you can leave with go-to outfits if you like the look!

Then, you two can shop together for her $65 an hour rate for however long you’d like. This is where she can learn more about you and your style and she can offer you tips, tricks and how to incorporate current trends into your wardrobe.

Jackie Neville, founder of Your Stylist

Now, if you don’t want to meet at the store to try on the items she pulled, or go through and shop together, another option would be to have Jackie shop for you alone, make the purchases, bring them to you, and then she takes care of returns afterwards. The rates vary with this option based on time and travel.

This seems like a FABULOUS option for people who don’t like to shop, or don’t have the time, but despirately need a wardrobe refresh; those who feel like they don’t know what to shop for or how to make it look just right; or they just want to get the most bang for their buck by having a professional shopper find their looks for less! Your Stylist with Jackie Neville can help with all that!

Review: Your Stylist, LLC

With having two kids in three years, my body has changed and I feel like I have NO TIME to shop or spend time getting creative with my wardrobe like I used to. So, as a result, I had three go-to outfits I kept wearing over and over again because I knew they fit, were comfortable, and were somewhat on-trend. In a pre-Facebook world, that might have worked a little better, but I kept getting embarrassed knowing that I had JUST worn the same thing when I posted something last week! haha!

Jackie Neville, founder of Your Stylist

I met Jackie Neville, founder of Your Stylist, at an event a couple months ago, and she said her specialty is helping women out of their style ruts. Ok, you have my attention, Jackie! 🙂

So,  I met her and filled out her initial questionnaire so she could learn about my lifestyle, style, and things I needed help with (like needing more go-to outfits!), etc.

She then came to my house, and did a full-on closet consultation to get rid of things that didn’t fit me well, determine what needed to be tailored to better fit me (and therefore get worn more often), and then she did a REALLY cool thing where she sorted my closet by outfit. She used these special hangers, where she had a shirt and a few different pants/skirts/jackets/sweaters that I could wear with it to make a full outfit. Voila, I have a TON of go-to outfits now!

I can’t tell you how much easier this makes my life every morning! Definitely recommend her! Click here to check out her site, and all the services she offers (she does personal shopping, etc., too!). I also recommend following her on Facebook and Instagram for some great styling and trend tips!

Style + Sustainability Gala 2016

Young, innovative and inspiring, these Cincinnati entrepreneurs are on the forefront of style and sustainability! Urban Blooms and Modern Makers collaborated to create the event that launched Cincinnati into the fall fashion season.

From the moment you walked in, it felt as if you were transported to New York’s trendiest neighborhood. This team took an otherwise empty warehouse and converted it into a venue worthy of hosting an upscale event, the 2016 Style + Sustainability Gala. Complete with living walls full of flowers and foliage, vibrant purple and blue lighting, a DJ mixing the latest music and lots of amazing shopping, this gala had something for everyone. Did I mention that the runway for the fashion show was made of live plants? It was an event unlike one this city had ever seen before. Check it out for yourself…

Behind the scenes was a sharp contrast to the main event, but just as fabulous. I was fortunate enough to make it there before the fashion show began with Urban Bloom’s co-founder, Lily Turner. We entered through what seemed like a secret door that opened into a room buzzing with energy and excitement and filled with models. As I was following Lily at a clipped pace through the chaos of backstage, we managed to sneak in a conversation. “What you see, in here and out there, this is a culmination of eight months of hard work,” she said.

She also said that Urban Blooms had been collaborating with Modern Makers for the past two years because they [Modern Makers] first took a chance on the company’s vision of sustainability and featured a living wall. I lost Lily in the crowd of models and designers as I was snapping the following photos.

The crowd grew quiet as Master of Ceremonies, Pam Kravetz, ascended to the stage and signaled the start of the show. As the first look entered the runway, everyone erupted into applause. Model after model strutted barefoot down the catwalk in clothing created from reused and recycled materials as well as living plants. According to this show, flowers, moss and vines are this season’s hottest accessories. Below are the most iconic looks of the show.

It wasn’t just about the runway. At the heart of this event was the desire to create a more connected, eco-friendly community in Cincinnati. Several local vendors provided food, drinks and shopping to enhance the gala experience as well as promote their businesses. The scent of Gomez Salsa was wafting throughout the hall making your mouth water all evening. You could enjoy a draft beer from Taft Ale House, one of Cincinnati’s most popular breweries. Taft’s partner, Kevin Moreland said, “We got involved with this event because of its vision of revitalization in Cincinnati.” If you were looking for a stylish outfit that is also sustainable, you could wander over to where Asia Lindsay, co-founder of Those Girls Vintage and Custom Clothing, was set up under a huge wall of warehouse windows. “Our brand is all about having fun, being who you are, and wearing bright, vibrant colors,” Lindsay said. “Because we sell second hand clothing, our brand is promoting sustainability and recycling while being luxurious and affordable.”

The best moment of the evening had to be when I found out that the Style + Sustainability Gala was not coming to an end- it was just the beginning. “We hope to make this an annual event,” said Turner. That, coupled with Urban Bloom’s co-founder Tyler Wolf’s goal to make Cincinnati the most sustainable city in the world, gives us hope that this time next year we will be attending the 2017 Style + Sustainability Gala!

Recap: Dave Faigle & Son Grand Opening Event!

On Saturday we hosted an awesome event at Dave Faigle & Son Jewelers (click here if you missed my video virtual tour of it!) and it was AWESOME. It was their official Grand Opening event, and I’m honored that they asked us to help plan and promote it.

Lots of Cincy Chic’ers came to check it out, and I don’t think anyone left empty handed… including myself (well, they were offering a huge store-wide discount, so they made “an offer we couldn’t refuse” haha!)

Check out the beautiful cuff bracelet I got and a few other pics an intern snapped throughout the event!

Ava Gray Direct Necklace/Bracelet Combo

I’m obsessed with this new Ava Gray Direct Necklace/Bracelet Combo I got from Amy Elberfeld who just did a lunch ‘n’ learn with Cincy Chic. So many ways to wear it! A necklace with doubled up beads, a necklace with a single strand of beads and a bracelet, or stacked bracelets. Pretty cool! Watch this video I made that shows how easy it is to switch it up! My friend Emily Smith (previously Emily Madden – she just got hitched!) started a company in 2008 that’s all about affordable fashion. Her business is called “Miss Em’s” — click here to read the story we did on her in Cincy Chic a couple years ago — and it should definitely be on your radar if you love trendy accessories but don’t want to spend a fortune on them.

Don't miss the Miss Em's Holiday Open House on Nov. 1 at the Anderson Senior Center!

From understated bracelets to statement necklaces, cute clutches to boho bags, stud earrings to dangling chandeliers, and posh pashminas to cozy scarves, Miss Em’s has it.  It’s an online boutique and Emily hand-selects everything herself, so that’s how she keeps the costs as low as possible.

And while most of the time, you have to go online to see and buy her items (she also does home parties, craft shows, etc. — like Stella and Dot, but at a fraction of the price) she also hosts an annual Holiday Shopping-themed Open House every year where you can shop in person! This year’s event is on Nov. 1 at the Anderson Senior Center (7970 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45255). Click here to get all the event details!

The first 150 people in attendance receive a swag bag filled with coupons from other vendors and local businesses, such as Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Thirty One, Jamberry Nails, Décor by Laurie.

All of the jewelry will be $20 or lower. Purses will range from $20 – $50, Scarves will range from $12 – $15, Headbands will range from $12 – $15. Follow Miss Em’s on Facebook to see more pictures of items that will be at the event, and get updates on other events, etc.

The event is open to the public. If you read this and attend the event and mention Cincy Chic, you will get a free gift! Also, if you would like to receive a postcard or emails about this event, please contact Emily@MissEms.com

I’ll be there snagging some great gifts for all the fashionistas on my list (and of course a ton of stuff for myself, I’m sure! haha!) Hope to see you there!
