This haute boutique offers a full selection of apparel, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Clients can receive personal styling, attend trunk shows, and private in home events. Personally, I fell in love with this shop due to the excellent service that was provided as soon as I walked in the door. The pieces were unique, stylish, but still very practical and casual. If you’re looking for a personal shopping experience where you’ll receive expert advice and exclusive pieces, The Wardrobe should be one of your first stops! So, The Wardrobe is hosting an extra special Black Friday event! Ladies at The Wardrobe are prompting shoppers to SHOP SMALL, and to support local businesses. They are providing a great deal to shoppers this weekend. For every $100 you spend, you’ll receive $20 back in a gift card which you can give away or keep for your next purchase! Designers, mark your calendars because Dayton is playing host to the 2014 Fabric Fest, the first of its kind in the region. This festival travels across the country and gives independent fashion designers and others education, networking and fabric sourcing opportunities from experts in the industry.
Chicago’s Anna Livermore is the founder of Fabric Fest and will be traveling to Dayton on March 29. Anna founded her company, V. Mora, in 2008 out of her passion for helping new and emerging designers and artists.
Her one-woman operation is now a fully staffed company. She has offices in Chicago and New York as well as consultants in San Francisco. Her clients are from all over the world and her co-founder Jay Arbetman travels with Anna to the Fabric Fest.
Anna and her team can help designers save thousands of designers on fabric, education and networking. There are hundreds of fabrics in thousands of colors available at reasonable prices.
Dayton is becoming a vibrant fashion immunity and will also host the Dayton Emerging Fashion Incubator on May 11.
Check out Fabric Fest Dayton from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at De’Lish Cafe on March 29. Admission is free and you can learn more by contacting Ed Dixon at 937-313-7886 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also visit the Fabric Fest Dayton Facebook page for more information!
Amy Kirchen Boutique, located in Old Milford, just held its Midsummer Boutique Sale over the weekend where all the summer merchandise was 40%- 70% off! So, lots of the Studio54-inspired looks we saw in our Red, Pink, and Blue show were marked down, and SO much more! While the sale is over now, I’m sure she still has lots of great deals in-store. Make sure you “like” her on Facebook so you’re the first to know about her future sales. She also just revamped her website amykirchen.com and now updates her blog frequently with all the behind the scenes of developing her designs and producing fashion shows.
Did you ever look at your shower curtain or linen sheets and imagine a beautiful evening gown or a printed summer dress? Well, that’s just a day in the life of sophomore students at University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP).
That’s why IKEA recently supported a project that encouraged aspiring designers of the UC DAAP program. Their task: to create fashionable pieces inspired by elements within the store. Students found the home textile department to be truly inspirational, as they adventured through hundreds of fun, bold, eccentric fabrics to be the muse of their designs. UC staff and IKEA co-workers agreed when presented the final looks, that these young designers created truly one-of-a-kind pieces.
“We hope this project will open many more opportunities to showcase IKEA’s iconic looks designed by talented DAAP students,” says IKEA store manager Heather Spatz in a recent press release.
This was an amazing opportunity for both IKEA and the DAAP students to design and showcase such great prints from your every day home items! If you are looking for some inspiration of your own, check out the pictures below of some of their creative designs!
This is one of the best times to be a chic and savvy shopper in Cincinnati. Why? Because the Cincinnati Boutique Sale was just last weekend, and the participating boutiques need to liquidate the merchandise that didn’t sell there to make room for all their new arrivals! So, keep your eyes peeled and wallet ready for all the huge sales at local boutiques because it’s your chance to get in on the goods!
My recommendation is to drop everything now and head to sara benajmin’s in Mariemont. They’re offering an ADDITIONAL 20% SALE MERCHANDISE! This means that those beloved designer brands such as Paige, AG, Joie, and Halston Heritage are now 50-80% OFF! You rarely see that kind of mark-down, so don’t delay!

Curate Boutique, the newest Hyde Park women’s fashion boutique, is home to a variety of style “Collections” …hence, Curate… get it? :). And for a limited time, customers can purchase these amazing collection pieces at what the owner Courtney is calling “epic” discounted prices! Almost everything in the store will be marked 30-70% off! From July 18 until August 1st, you can get these chic steals, and start building a new collection in your own closet!
My team and I at Cincy Chic are kiiiind of obsessed with Curate, actually. Not only did we write about them here and here, but I blogged about them here and here. Plus, we featured them at our Night in White fashion show in May and they are sponsoring our Wearable Art Show on July 26! WHEW!

Everyone will be ‘fleeing’ (pun intended!) to Washington Park this Saturday, July 13th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to join in the contagious energy that springs from Cincinnati’s original curated, urban flea market. The City Flea is hosting its monthly market celebration this weekend and is inviting anyone and everyone!
This project began June 4th, 2011 and immediately left people wanting more! Their first summer season was declared a success due to the 70 + vendors sold, and since then, in the third season of operation, the Flea is home to about 170 creative, unique vendors.
There is no admission free, but they do ask that you bring a smile 🙂
Expect everything from food to ceramics to clothing and MUCH more! Spend your Saturday exploring the unique and talented vendors at Washington Park!
The City Flea site encourages people all around town, to “bring your friends, bring a few bucks, and most importantly, just bring it.”

Amy Kirchen never ceases to amaze me. As I mentioned before here on the blog, she had a 2-year anniversary party for the boutique in May called “High Heels in High Places.” Mint snakeskin brocade, nude florals and chic whites were in full bloom and were worn by the many admirers of Amy’s custom and prêt-à-porter creations.
Amy Kirchen is always bringing the latest trends to her boutique in Milford. I love it because it’s a mix of both vintage and modern… things you’d see Jackie O wearing, but could still be worn today. The best thing about her boutique is that it’s super affordable…. so, you can look like a million bucks without spending it!
Her collections and custom designs are housed in the back of her boutique. And while they’re not as affordable as the boutique items you’ll see in the front, you do get what you pay for. I saw that first-hand when she made my Dancing with the Stars dress. When I got asked to compete, my first call was to her so we could create a fab dress together. She came up with a breath-taking design, we tweaked and perfected it to hug every curve (but still keep everything in! haha!), and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined! The entire experience was amazing as I got to see the entire design process play out! So, if you have a wedding or special occasion coming up, click here to get her contact info and give her a call!
I also wanted to give a big thanks to Amy’s team for our recent 2013 Red, Pink, and Blue fashion show on the Purple People Bridge to benefit heart, breast and diabetes health. Amy created a Studio 54, 70’s glam-inspired runway show full of dynamic colors, high-waisted silhouettes, and splashes of sequins. Amy mixed boutique pieces with custom wear and together the 1970s were reborn on the People Purple Bridge! I will definitely be heading to Amy Kirchen Boutique to get some of those 70s-meets-today looks from the show!
