Green Bean Delivery #PlateProud

stirfryI just found out about this fun #Plateproud contest going on with Green Bean Delivery and I can’t wait to participate! I’m going to submit my ginger beef stir fry recipe for the Locavore category! Since I’ll be getting mushrooms, kale and ginger in my next bin, the recipe will definitely be more than 40% locally grown per the rules (because GBD sources their items from local farmers which is awesome).

If you don’t already know about GBD, click here to learn more — but basically, it’s a service that makes fresh fruits and veggies from local farmers magically appear on your doorstep.

It’s perfect for someone like me….I haaaaate going to the grocery store (crowds, time-consuming, getting suckered into buying lots of random things I don’t need), but I like to have fresh veggies/fruits/herbs on-hand to make baby food, cook with, and snack on. Since I only muster up the strength to grocery shop about once a month, I either run out or they go bad. That is, until GBD.

If you haven’t checked it out, I do recommend it. Especially all you busy moms out there with the kids about to get out for summer. You can just get it for a couple months if you want and then suspend it until you need it again. Their site is pretty user friendly and their plans are really flexible.

As for that #Plateproud contest, it’s going on from now until May 22, and more details are below if you want to participate. Oh, and if you are interested in jumping on the GBD bandwagon with me, use the code 15cnch you can get $15 off your first order.
