I was ambitious this week and was working ahead on my blog. So, I had this post planned for yesterday until I found out last minute that Cincy Designer Shoes was going out of business. I wanted to let everyone know about the sales CDS was having, so I wrote about that yesterday instead. But here’s what I had planned to write about yesterday. It explains all the houndstooth toes you’re going to see for the next several weeks of Fabushoe Friday posts!

Usually, Fridays are all about the shoes. And yes, I am wearing some saucy slingback peeptoes in patent leather. But my houndstooth toes are stealing the show!

I’ve only had them done for a few days and I get stopped every where I go getting asked how the heck I got my toes to look like that. Some think it’s airbrushed, others think it’s a stencil. But, no. I got Minxed.

Back in October, I told you about Minx. It’s kind of like nail polish, but it’s actually a thin polymer that molds to your nails. There’s no dry-time and you can choose from 170+ fun, funky designs, colors and patterns.

I chose houndstooth because it hit the runways last fall in a big way, which means it’ll be hitting “real life” this fall.

For the past three years, I’ve worn nothing but French Pedicure because I like how neutral it looks. This houndstooth is quite the opposite, so it shocks me every time I look down. But it’s good. Something different and fun!

Veniece, the “minxanista” who did my Minx pedicure says this will last me six weeks. And it’s not really that much more expensive than a regular pedi either. It was $65, and she does $5 off for new clients. Manis are $45 but she says they only last about a week. I’ll let you know how well they last!

But for now, I need to find some houndstooth clothing to match my new tres chic toes! : )
