In January, Cincy Chic did an event at Mitchell’s and had a few different vendors there to showcase the new trends for the new year. One of those vendors was my friend Ceci David with Stella & Dot.
Apparently, she sold a few things at the event. So, she emailed me the next day and told me that got me $150 in free products. I wasn’t expecting to get anything, so I was very excited! She said that when you host jewelry parties with her, you get rewards! So, I went to her site, and picked out an Audrey Hepburn-esque pearl necklace and matching earrings. I thought it would be perfect for dressing up an LBD. And I have the perfect pair of shoes (which I wore on my wedding day)!
When I got them in the mail, the packaging was so cute, I just had to share the experience in the video below.

I told Ceci I made this video and would be posting it to the blog to let everyone know how special it is to get something in the mail from S&D. She was so excited and said it was perfect timing because a big wig from the company was coming into town on Feb. 7. So, anyone reading this interested in meeting one of the masterminds at S&D, you can! Below is some info about the event tomorrow!
Stella & Dot’s Spring line captures the essence of the season with easy-to-wardrobe, ready-to-wear chic and affordable accessories that make it simple for a woman to be stylish. Many of our pieces are extraordinarily versatile as well, playing into the trend of ‘convertible clothing’ at a time when women are anxious to make a little go along way without breaking the bank. Several of our new pieces have already been featured in InStyle & People magazines.
Our Vice President of Training, Danielle Redner, is coming to Cincinnati next week for a “Meet Stella & Dot” opportunity event in West Chester on the evening of February 7th at the Cincinnati Marriott North that is open to the public. We are also holding a training event for all Stylists in the area the following day. It is the first time anyone from corporate has come to the Cincinnati area.
Our jewelry itself is editor-adored and celebrity coveted but even more exciting is that the business opportunity for women in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area is HUGE. We are a billion dollar global brand in the making but really just in our infancy in this area. For women who want to re-enter the work-force, part or full-time, it’s an ideal modern and flexible way to do it on their own terms. Stella & Dot paid out over $50 million in commissions last year!
As background, here’s a link to a story from Sequoia Capital Partners who just recently invested $37 million in our business.
