Women’s Movie Night, Health Chat Jan. 30

The UC Health Women’s Center will be holding its first annual and quarterly movie night on January 30 with a screening of “Miss Representation.” The film, written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, exposes the media’s contribution to the under-representation of women in position of power and influence in America.

“Miss Representation” includes stories from teenage girls and interviews with politicians, journalists, entertainers, activities and academics including Condoleezza Rice, Lisa Ling, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Rosario Dawson, Jackson Katz, Jean Kilbourne and Gloria Steinem. After the screening, there will be a discussion facilitated by Catherine Geering, WHNP-BC, NCMP.
