Why You Need to go Thrift Shopping NOW!

Alexis found her senior prom dress at a thrift store – how cool!

Check out this awesome blog post from my even more awesome intern Alexis Piascik and why she thinks you need to head to the thrift store – like yesterday!

As I’ve reiterated upwards of 100 times by now, Spring is upon us, and you know what that means – spring cleaning. People are attempting to rid their wardrobe of their cold weather clothes, and probably almost anything else they can fit into a garbage bin.

Spring is a time of new beginnings and all those old clothes are going to end up in donation piles in Goodwill and Salvation Army. So I ask; as denim jackets, velvet shoes, and wind-suits leak into the spring, why spend $80 on something new when it was just thrown out and can now be found for $6 at your local thrift store?

Thrift shopping any time of year is a no-brainer way to save money, but doing it just after spring cleaning is when you find the real treasures. Not to mention, suburban housewives aren’t the only ones trying to make space – tons of stores will hold “Spring Cleaning Sales” around this time to make room for all the fun new fashions they’re about to get in.

Take advantage! And take it from me – I got my senior prom dress at a Goodwill!
