Chic Peek Saturday: Cherbourg Cyprus

Eight years ago, the owner, Geri Peacock set out to make the best gluten free and nut free baked goods that are minimally processed in a friendly, beautiful and welcoming environment. It ended up being a huge success where she got her start in Columbus, and she recently decided to bring her booming bakery business to Cincinnati.
Cherbourg is named after a welcoming and trusting French port-town. Cyprus nods to a Mediterranean flair to the Euro-inspired menu. Cyprus is also the birthplace of hospitality which is fitting because the bakery has a cozy feel that invites you to stay and enjoy good food and conversation with friends. And that’s exactly what we did!
We got an awesome variety of foods to try everything out and then we all dug in family style, which we rarely do because several of my friends have food allergies. Some of our favorites were: Shakshuka (Individual savory skillet with a rich Moroccan red sauce and an egg atop served with polenta flats), Agápe Skáki (Quiches in Love Boats) and their famous Double Lemon Bar.
The Bakers said they stop by Findlay Market to gather their fresh produce, so they’re locally sourcing which is really nice to know. But the best thing is that while these baked goods are made with minimally processed ingredients — No dyes, fillers, gluten or nuts are ever added —  it definitely didn’t sacrifice taste! These were seriously some of the best baked goods I’ve ever had and I don’t have any food allergies!
Geri also runs a blog, Be Sweet Cherbourg where she shares recipes and tricks along with lifestyle and travel stories. She even shares her recipe for the famous Double Lemon Bar
