Holiday Glam Fashion Show, Jeffrey Bartlett Custom Shirt Deal

The Cincy Chic Holiday Glam Fashion Show is this Friday (Dec. 7) at Lexus RiverCenter and there are only a few tickets left so make sure you RSVP! The event features complimentary drinks and fare, shopping, festive photobooth, and fashion show featuring “holiday glam” looks. Bring a gently used coat for St. Vincent de Paul and get a free swag bag! In that swag bag, we’ll have lots of goodies, product samples, and gift certificates. One of them that I’m super excited about is this Jeffrey Bartlett certificate.

Jeffrey makes custom menswear (click here to check out a fashion show he did for Cincinnati Profile recently). The certificate is for 2 custom shirts for the price of one (I believe shirts range in price from $150 – $595). He said I could post the certificate for my blog readers in case some of you aren’t able to come to the event! So, here you go! What a great holiday gift idea for that well-dressed man in your life!

Small Business Saturday: Delamere & Hopkins

From now until Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, I’m going to feature a local business with great gift ideas for everyone on your “nice list.” Today, I’m featuring Delamere & Hopkins.

They’re located in Hyde Park Square (which will have free valet parking Saturdays Thanksgiving-Christmas 10a-6p by the way!). I always knew they were on the Square, and I knew they featured outdoor gear and trips, but I had never been inside. However, I’ve been working with them on this awesome event this Thursday that I’m putting together for Cincinnati Profile, and they’re going to be my go-to place for all my “guy gifts” from now on!

Here are a few things I found….

Every man’s dream. Fashionable flasks. Perfect gift for any man.
Men are picky, get them what fits their lifestyle. A timepiece is perfect for every occasion.
EXPLORE! Ohio is full of amazing landscapes that many people don’t know about. Get that “adventurous” friend something they can enjoy right in their backyard.

What Suits You?

My husband is now the editor of Cincinnati Profile (we now have “his and her” publications haha!) And I’m managing and planning all the Profile events now. On March 18, we have our first event – the Cincinnati Profile Launch Party! I’m so excited!

So, I have several vendors scheduled at this event. One of which – Dan Netter with Tom James Co., a custom clothier – wanted to meet because this was his first of several vendor events he wants to do with Profile (we did this nice write-up about this company here on Cincy Chic).

In our meeting, Dan was asking what people would be most interested in/respond best to at the party, so I told him to give me his schpeal and then I would let him know. He starts showing me his look book – chalked full of men’s and women’s clothing, both professional and casual – and he starts telling me about these “bolt end” sales. Basically, Tom James will sell off the ends of the fabric bolts to their reps at super cheap prices, and the reps can then make suits for their clients a lot cheaper than they ever could with regularly priced fabrics.

I loved the look book, especially the ready-to-wear casual apparel, and I loved this bolt end sale concept, so I asked him to do a little video with me so I could share the info on Cincinnati Profile and this blog! Check out the video below! And hopefully you can come to the Profile Launch Party on March 18 at Performance Lexus in Mason!

Black White and Chic All Over!

Back in January, I told you about how my friend Nidhi (who was just featured as a “Single & Successful” gal on Cincinnati Profile – check out her photo album… hotness!). She opened her own boutique called the Black & White Exchange. Well, now Cincy Chic and Black & White Exchange are partnering up for an event tomorrow (3/9) night called “Black, White and Chic All Over.”

I love the concept of the boutique because you can bring in cute cocktail dresses (or wedding dresses) you’d like to sell and then you can buy new and gently used ones! I hate to be seen in the same cocktail dress twice …but that can get expensive. Sites like renttherunway.com are a good alternative to wearing something new all the time on the cheap, but it’s tough to know what will fit you when you order through a website. So Black & White Exchange is a great way to love it, wear it, and exchange it for something else to love, wear and exchange.

See you tomorrow for this fun event!

Menswear Trends, Profile Launch, Corwyn’s New Store

Cincinnati Profile Launch Party invite

It’s raining men! Not really… it’s raining slushy snow today unfortunately, but it’s also raining lots of exciting news for men this week! : )

New menswear trends were recently strutting the runways at New York Fashion Week, Cincinnati Profile (basically the male version of Cincy Chic) is having an event to launch its new online-only format and Corwyn Apparel (a local tie designer) is opening a new store in Springdale next week.

You wont want to miss the Corwyn event if you’re in the market for new ties. He’s doing a 50% discount on all neckties from his Spring 2011 collection!

Below is a video from when I went on Fox19 to highlight some new menswear trends! Enjoy!

One of the things I didn’t get to focus on much is the “swazer” the last model was wearing. It was a blazer, but it was more of a soft, sweater material. It even had a detachable quilted, leather trimmed neck under the lapel, which I thought was interesting. So, it gives a more relaxed look to a blazer if you want it, or need the extra protection (with style) from the elements. Here’s a close up pic of the swazer. I got it at Nordstrom Rack for $129.
