So…. my little dream of Cincy Chic not only became a reality and survived an amazingly craptastic economy… we turned SEVEN last week!! Can you believe it??
Of course, that gave me and my Chic team reason to celebrate, and celebrate in style we did! 🙂 I went with a Marilyn Monroe “Seven Year Itch” theme on the invites to staff… “celebrating seven years, and an itch to be even more fabulous this year!” Our first stop was at Cincy Style Bar to get glammed up for the occasion.
I love love love hosting events there. They just think of everything… they had colorful balloons, champagne chilling and a personalized cake waiting for us when we walked in! And of course, our nails and blowouts looked FAB after they worked their magic!
Then, I had Elements Limousine Service pick us up in their new party bus at the salon and take us to CRAVE Restaurant down on the Banks. I wish I would have told the driver to take a scenic route because we had SO much fun on the bus! It had two large TV screens, room to walk and dance around, and an amazing sound system! But, within a few minutes, we were at CRAVE, and boy were we hungry!
So, we loaded up on apps, entrees and yummy cocktails. Since I have a bun in the oven (woohoo!), I thought I’d just be doing water for the night but the server told me about this amazing “Cranberry Bubbles” virgin cocktail with fresh cranberries, ginger ale, thyme, rosemary and other fresh herbs. It was SO delish! The favorite among the drinker Chic’ers was the “Sweet Heat” martini with Bacardi Dragon Berry, white cranberry, mango, jalapeño, and St. Germain.
After dinner, I invited all our Cincy Chic columnists to meet the staffers, because with us being an online publication, many of them had never met before! It was neat to have everyone together and thank them for all that they do to make Cincy Chic special…. toasting to seven successful years and the best one yet to come!
And thank YOU for reading! We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without your support! Get ready for an exciting year ahead because we have a Chic seven year itch to be even more fab in 2014!!!
Looking for a great place to shop local this holiday season? Over-the-Rhine is the place to go! The OTR Chamber of Commerce just announced its schedule for a number of holiday shopping and entertainment events that will take place throughout November and December, and it sounds awesome!!
Everyone is invited to shop, eat and play locally at dozens of boutiques, stores, restaurants, bars and theaters in historic OTR. The shop local holiday season will be kicked off with BuyCincy (formerly known as Cincinnati Unchained) on November 21!
Cincy Chic had our office in OTR from 2009-2011. I moved our office to Anderson to share a collaborative space with a local ad agency, but I miss OTR sooo much and often visit to get my fix and see all the new places popping up. I’m so proud of how the community has developed over time, and plan to attend several of these events to shop local in OTR this holiday season!
The Pink Tulip Club is offering 20% to 30% off the boutique’s new styles including cardigans, faux leather jacks and fun tops!
I was just there and they’re packed full of fab fall colors such as cream, grey, auburn, rust, gold and cobalt blue…. and all the best fall fabrics including wool, genuine leather, cashmere and silk!
Since the Pink Tulip Club’s Montgomery location is celebrating its 3 year anniversary this month, all final sale items can be found at 70% off! Much of what you’ll find on the sale rack are great pieces for fall too!
The holiday collection has also arrived at the Pink Tulip Club, so if you’re planning on attending any holiday parties or galas this fall, this is the place to go to find your party dress or gown!
And one of the most exciting announcements the Pink Tulip Club has is that they are now carrying 7 For all Mankind designer denim at the Montgomery location. In order to celebrate this exciting new addition to the store’s inventory, they’re having a giveaway!
If you try on a pair of the 7 For All Mankind denim, you’ll be entered in a drawing for a pair of tickets to The Duke energy Convention Center’s Holiday Market! The Pink Tulip Club is giving away 20+ tickets so you’ll have several chances to win! If you’re a lucky winner, you’ll be contacted via phone or email and will be announced in the November Pink Tulip Club email!
Pink Tulip Club actually provided all the clothing for Cincy Chic’s Bras with Flair Fashion Show last Friday, and I wanted every. single. piece!!!! Click here to check out the photos Cincinnati.com’s photog snapped at the event!
