According to Marilyn Monroe, seven years is when you start to get the itch. That must be why my gal pals over at Details2Decor, are itching to have a FABULOUS night out to celebrate their seven years in business together! 🙂 I’m sooooo excited for them!

They have an amazing event planned (what else would you expect from a couple of event planners, right?!) on Aug. 27 complete with a courtyard, cocktails, InstaGlam Fashion Cam, swag brag bag, sweet and spicy treats, door prizes, and more!
After the event, the fun continues on Fountain Square for a fun night of Salsa Dancing. (If you’ve never been to a salsa night on Fountain Square, you MUST!) It’s always really well attended and so much fun! I love that the Details2Decor incorporated that into their event!

I cannot believe that Pete and I are coming up on our SEVENTH wedding anniversary soon! It seriously seems like yesterday, but in reality I know it wasn’t. Especially when I hear my younger friends (ack, that makes me sound old!) talk about using Pinterest to find all kinds of great ideas, and going to fun bridal shows to find the local vendors who will make their big day dreams come true.
Back in the day (yup, definitely old), there was no Pinterest and the bridal expos — the one or two a year that existed — were boring and held at the convention center downtown. So, all you ladies with wedding bells in your future, soak it in because this is a great time to be engaged! GO to these fun expos! GO with all your Pinterest boards created. Meet, greet and enjoy planning that super special day! Here are two expos coming up (one for all you gals up north closer to Dayton, and another one is downtown at the casino… yes, you can plan your wedding while visiting the casino… hey, win big and it’ll pay for it! haha!)

I’m love love loving the new Victor Athletics line we wrote about that’s getting started by the Noble Denim folks, thanks to their local love and successful Kickstarter campaign. I also enjoyed reading our feature story about the founder of Game On Fitness and how she – a single mother of two – was inspired to help people get fit after her mother was diagnosed with cancer. I think this is such a great event idea! It’s the Grab-A-Gem event at Koop Diamond Cutters downtown. The concept is simple: you pay $25 to “grab a gem” (limit of 4 per person) and you could be the lucky winner of diamonds, sapphires, or one of their many other gems.
The great news is that EVERYONE is a winner! You could win their grand prize (a diamond valued at $6,400), but even if you don’t, you still leave with a fab gem that you can create a custom piece around!

We just published details about our March event! I’m really pumped about it because it’s going to be hosted at one of my favorite venues in town, ADC, the “gallery in the sky.” On the walls of the gallery (special just for our event!) the owner, Litsa Spanos, is going to feature local artists who use eco-conscious, repurposed materials in their pieces. Also, we’re doing a different spin for the fashion show — it’s going to be an hair/makeup show by the stylists at Alba Organic Beauty Studio (they use all organic and non-toxic products!). It’s also going to be a fundraiser and drive for clothing/jewelry donations. See below for all the details — hope to see you there!!

In January this year, we wrote a story in Cincy Chic about The Sister Accord (click here to read it) and the local jewelry designer, Lisa Robin Jewelry, who was inspired to launch a new line of jewelry for it! Ever since then, I’ve been keeping up with The Sister Accord and wanting to get involved!
In a nutshell, The Sister Accord works with girls and young women to build healthy relationships to eradicate bullying and violence. As a new mom to a little girl, I couldn’t be more proud of what they’re doing for the community and our little ladies in particular.

My accountant connected me with another one of his clients, Deanna. She’s a local woman who graduated from DAAP and has since launched a new business called up2tempo. The concept is great: fashionable, affordable clothes sold through trunk shows and home parties.
I love the concept so much that I’m going to help Deanna launch with a bang! I’m helping her to plan her launch party on Nov. 8 at Obscura downtown and I hope you can join us!
