I’m soooo excited for this Thursday’s Baubles and Bubbles event at Jimmy G’s! Plus, the first 20 attendees will get a $250 gift certificate to Paolo Jewelers! How awesome is that!?

Review: Kingsgate Woodhouse Day Spa

My favorite spa in Cincinnati is HANDS DOWN Woodhouse Day Spa in Montgomery. I love its location (lots of cute shops and restaurants nearby), its products (many are organic), and that it’s not a salon and spa. It’s solely a spa, so you’re not straining to relax to the sound of hairdryers and smell of hairspray. You can truly relax.

So, of course, I was super excited when I read about the new Kingsgate Mariott Woodhouse location in Cincy Chic a few months ago. This location is really convenient for me because I’m always running from meeting to meeting downtown. So, I made an appointment for a facial and manicure to look fresh and fabulous for the New Kids on the Block concert on Tuesday (which was an AWESOME concert, by the way!).

The Kingsgate Mariott, which is basically on the UC campus, was easy to find. Woodhouse took over the previous spa’s space, so once you get into the Mariott look for “spa” signage (not “Woodhouse” like I did… blonde moment! haha!), and it’s located on the 3rd floor. Once you step inside, it’s like a mini version of the Montgomery Woodhouse location. It smells the same, has the same cozy white robes, and same great spa experience.

They do have a limited menu there, but have all the basic nail, massage, esthetic services. I usually get shellac if I get my nails done, and they don’t offer that at this location, so I got a regular french mani. She did one of the best French manis I’ve ever had (they’re so easy to screw up!) so I was really happy with it.

What I REALLY loved though was my facial. They used an organic cherry scrub that smelled like sweet, summery heaven. It was also pretty much a whole upper body massage too — she worked my shoulders, arms, hands and neck — which is where I hold all my tension anyway. After the facial, I felt super relaxed and my skin was glowing!

So, I definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you work downtown or are near the UC campus. It’s a great way to get the all the fabulous Woodhouse basics at a more convenient location!

The new Woodhouse Day Spa is located inside the Kingsgate Mariott at 151 Goodman Drive Cincinnati, Ohio 45219. All guests get complimentary parking, so make sure you get a ticket before you leave to use when you’re exiting the lot!

Send Your Love to a Cause at Saks

Saks has two exciting initiatives coming up for Spring. The first program is a charity initiative called “Send Your Love to a Cause” which will run from February 1 – 28 and will give 5% of sales from all Saks card transactions for the month to one of three local charities: The American Red Cross, The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, or Kenzie’s Closet. Shoppers register their charity at point of sales and their purchases will be tracked for the month so 5% will benefit their organization of choice. The Red Cross will receive up to $100,000 nationally while the Cincinnati Zoo and Kenzie’s Closet will receive up to $5,000 each.

So, Saks downtown is hosting an in-store event to kick off the program on Thursday, February 7 from 6 – 8pm. The charities’ boards and supporters will be in attendance along with Saks shoppers, media, and friends. Guests will enjoy a Champagne reception while they shop for a cause. Get more info about the event below!

More Lady in Red Attire Inspirations!

Cincy Chic is celebrating American Heart Health Awareness month in style at our fifth annual “Lady in Red” event on February 9, held at Macy’s Fountain Place from 6-9 p.m. The event requires a red cocktail dress to be worn at their fashionable fundraiser for the American Heart Association. What a great cause to bring that red dress out and let it shine!

Any style cocktail dress is acceptable from a fun flare, sexy sequin, chic sheer, lacy love, mix and match to cute and cozy and much more, as long as it’s ravishing red! Glam it up with that red nail polish, red lipstick, jewelry, and a fun red oversized tote or clutch. Don’t forget about those fashionable feet, any heel looks great from a short and cute kitten heel, a thin and high stiletto, chunky pumps or a great looking wedge. Don’t have red heels? Don’t worry, let that red dress stand out and add some nude or black heels.  You’ll be red hot on that red carpet!

All proceeds from the fundraising activities benefit the American Heart Association “Go Red for Women” campaign.

Bras with Flair Sneak Peek: Style Sample

My friend Tamia at Style Sample sent me a pic of the bra she decorated and donated for Bras with Flair on Oct. 19! Tamia says she titled the bra “Purple Rain” … I think she should call it the “piece of art formerly known as a bra.” haha! 🙂

You can see this and more than FOUR HUNDRED (yes, that’s how many donations we got in!!!) decorated bras flying high on Fountain Square on Oct. 19. Click here for more details and to RSVP for the Bras with Flair Fashion Show that benefits Susan G. Komen!
