Eco-Fab Fashion Show a HUGE Success!

WOW! What a great event we had on Friday with our fourth-annual Eco-Fab Fashion Show! We had more than 400 attendees, raised lots of awareness and money for the Civic Garden Center, and brought a lot of attention to locally-based “green” businesses! The fashion show featured Loveland-based Lur Apparel, which makes its apparel from 100% recycled materials, and hair/makeup by Alba Beauty Studios which is an organic salon/spa! Click here to see all the pics but here are a few of my faves… I loved the model’s dress (I’ve never seen recyclables look so stylish!) and a gal wearing one of the “no sew infinity scarves” we taught attendees how to make! Love it!

Cincinnati Natives are Launching a New Clothing Line!

IMG_0088Since I’ve had “green on the brain” lately because of this Friday’s Eco Fab Fashion Show (click here to get your ticket!), I was super excited to learn about this new clothing line developed by Cincinnati natives with a green mission in mind!

Brittany Yantos and her business partner have been working on a clothing line called Merit Clothiers. The inspiration of the line comes from WWI military styles as well as their own childhood experiences in scouting.

The line features hand-stitched merit badges for things you accomplish like planting a garden, traveling abroad, adopting a rescue pet, etc.

The materials in the line are made in the USA, eco-friendly and contain an organic cotton canvas and twill with non-toxic dyes or 100% wool felt!

The line’s goal is to inspire others to do good deeds by wearing the product and those who pre-order will get sale prices!

The duo have already reached the 50% of their kickstarter goal since they launched! Check out the kickstarter campaign here to learn more or donate to help these ladies get their line manufactured!

Eco-Fab Fashion Show Sneak Peek, lur apparel Sustainable Leader Awards

The award includes more than $1,000 in prizes including a cash grant for the cause of the winner’s choice! Nominations for the award will be accepted until March 15. Click here to learn more about the campaign.

lur apparel is actually  the fashion show sponsor for our Eco Fab Fashion Show on March 15. The event, hosted by my team at Cincy Chic, will feature eco-friendly hair, makeup, styling, fashion show, several pop-up boutiques to shop at and fundraisers for the Civic Garden Center. Eco Fab Fashion Show March 15th!

031513ggfs600-1Over at Cincy Chic, we’ll be having our 2013 Eco-Fab Fashion Show on March 15.

The event will be from 6-9 p.m at PNC Bank on E. 4th St.

Complimentary light bites by Crave and drinks will be served. Lots of shopping will also be done and the first 200 attendees to arrive will get a swag bag!

The fashion show will start at 7:30 and will feature sustainable designs by lur apparel and eco-friendly hair and makeup styling by Cincy Style Bar!

Fundraising activities for the Civic Garden Center will be available during the event as well as an “Eco-Fab” workshop area where attendees can turn their old t-shirts into no-sew infinity scarves!
