I hate to start the week off with bad news, but here it goes: KaVatee is going out of business.
These two local designers (Katie and Valerie) developed a great concept, produced some amazing merchandise, and got some impressive coverage… to include being on The Today Show, in many international blogs and even a featured vendor in Macy’s. But in order to continue business and take it to the next level, they’d need to take a financial risk neither designer was willing to make.
Valerie and Katie sent out a heartfelt email to all their clients and supporters thanking them, and also left the door open for future opportunities: “We very well could introduce a new brand or concept in the future,” the email said.
So, this isn’t completely a Debbie Downer blog post. There’s a silver lining in all of this. There will be a HUGE sale of all their remaining inventory! Go to Kavatee.com to take advantage of all the deep discounts. Remember, the holidays will be here before you know it!
Happy shopping – and best of luck on your future endeavors, Val and Katie! I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ll hear from you.
Thanks to my intern Sara Elliott for helping put this blog post together!
My friends over at Kavatee are rockin’!! Not only were they recently a featured vendor at Macy’s and on The Today Show, but they just unveiled new items! They now have new Neckalinas, new necklaces, and new scarves in a fab new fabric! Check them out at Kavatee.com!
Ladies, get ready to say Bienvenue to KaVatee and The Neckalina. No, I’m not speaking another language here (er, except for that Bienvenue part). The Neckalina is the hottest new accessory to hit the market, and it was developed by two lovely ladies right here in the Tri-State.
Katie Fairhurst and Valerie Eidson founded KaVatee earlier this year and created a unique three-looks-in-one accessory, which they call “The Neckalina.” Basically, it’s a scarf loop with a detachable necklace that you can wear with the scarf loop or independently. They come in some really great colors too. The pink and turquoise are my favorites.
Next week, they will be having an event to launch their new website and sell The Neckalina to the public for the first time. Below is all the event info. Also, check out my video interview with Katie and Valerie to learn more about them, The Neckalina and the launch party!
Where: The Betty Bar Atop Mainstay (301 West 5th Street Cincinnati, OH 45202)
When: Friday August 26, 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
A portion of proceeds from the cash bar and silent auction will go to benefit the Patty Brisben Foundation.
