My favorite local lingerie shop, La Silhouette Lingerie, has a new and improved home! They’re still in Madeira…. just moved down the street to a more spacious location at 6904 Miami Avenue, Madeira OH. What I love about this shop is that it feels like you’ve just stepped into a quaint and chic Parisian store. The owner, Britt, always has fresh-cut flowers and sweet treats out. And she has some of the most beautiful pieces (I got all my wedding night wear there… ow ow!) and also some of your more affordable everyday pieces. She also carries some fun hosiery, tops, silk scarves, jewelry and even some great swimwear! Check them out at their new location!

With all this snow (and after all the over-eating I did at yesterday’s Christmas dinner), the last thing I want to think about is a bathing suit. But I follow La Silhouette Lingerie on Facebook and just saw them update about now carrying swimwear and covers. So, if you’re planning a getaway to warmer weather, you now have a local boutique to buy from! (there aren’t any other local boutiques who carry bathing suits that I know of).

This is my favorite lingerie shop in Cincinnati. Every time I go inside, I feel like I’m stepping off the streets of Paris! And they carry some of the most amazing lingerie, hosiery, and accessories. They even carry some great clothing — I actually got one of my favorite tops there (Wolford, Merino Wool)!

End of the summer sales are popping up everywhere lately. But, don’t miss out on what Madeira is promising to be the biggest Tent Sale of the season. The event starts today, August 11 through the 14th, located on Miami Avenue in Madeira.

They say well-behaved women rarely make history. That’s exactly why the history-maker herself, Bad Girl Ventures (BGV) founder Candace Klein is hosting lingerie trunk show this Saturday.
BGV is a micro-lending organization serving Tri-State women daring and determined enough to launch the business of their dreams. Klein is partnering with two other local business owners Monika Rathnayake and Arlene Aranzamendez who founded MARA, a luxury lingerie line, for a lingerie trunk show June 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at La Silhouette in Madeira. Donations and a percentage of all sales will go to support BGV.
Since founding BGV in 2010, Klein has raised almost $280,000 in capital, funded 15 businesses, provided six full months of classes, and supported more than 100 women who have applied to go through the BGV process.
“It’s always been my passion to help other women,” Klein says. Rathnayake and Aranzamendez share Klein’s passion for empowering and inspiring women. And they’re doing so one undergarment at a time.
MARA, named after the founders’ initials, is headquartered in Cincinnati, its designers are based in Manila and the items are manufactured in Sri Lanka. Each piece is meticulously designed and developed from the finest laces, silks and satins from across the world.
The event will host a meet-and-greet session with MARA & BGV founders and loan recipients. Shop the collection while indulging in wine, appetizers and sweet treats from Chocolate Latour. You will also be able to enter for a chance to win fabulous raffle items at the trunk show.

We’re less than a week away from Valentine’s Day! So, I’m doing a “Countdown to V-day” series of daily blogs to give you gift ideas.
Looking back on what I’ve given my husband over the past several years we’ve been together, his most common gift has been lingerie. Yeah, it’s technically a gift for me… but let’s be real, this eye candy is DEFINITELY a gift to him.
