Lady in Red Men’s Hair Recap

A few weeks ago, I posted a blog recapping the looks from our Lady in Red event because all the women’s hair looked SO amazing, but I have to say the men looked quite dapper too. I’ve been thinking I should recap those looks too (especially since a new men’s salon in town — called “18|8 Fine Men’s Salon” in Oakley — did all the grooming on  looks and you might want want to know about it… or at least just look at well-groomed man candy! haha!) We just did another event over the weekend with Marvin Lewis at 18|8 and it was AMAZING! Not only because the event had a bunch of beautiful exotic cars on an even more beautiful day (seriously with this weekend’s weather! loved it!) but they also donated all proceeds from services that day to the Marvin Lewis Community Fund! Check out pics from that event here! My hubby and father-in-law got a straight razor shave at the event and LOVED it. Definitely send the men in your life to this place! It’s awesome!

Lady in Red Fashion Show Hair

hair

We’ve done recaps on events before… about how many attendees came, how much we raised, etc. But I’ve never done one solely dedicated to the hair in the fashion show. That’s about to change because the hair in Friday’s Lady in Red fashion show was OFF. THE. HOOK.

I seriously had to go off script during the event to give props to the amazing hair styles I saw coming down that runway. The best part about it is that the hair was done by STUDENTS at Paul Mitchell The School!

They seriously do a phenomenal job (clearly), so if you ever need a new ‘do, definitely consider stopping in. Everyone there is so accommodating and friendly, and their work speaks for itself.

I was completely blown away. If you weren’t at the event, check out these pictures so you can see why I’m obsessing over them right now!

Click here to RSVP and learn more!

Now…. wondering what to wear to Lady in Red? Macy’s has three very special dresses to help answer that question for you!

From February 4th – 16th 10% of the purchase price of three exclusive red dresses by Kensie, Thalia and Calvin Klein as well as exclusive Go Red Ideology active wear available in select stores and online at Macys.com will go to benefit Go Red For Women®!

The dresses and Ideology line are available in the Cincinnati area as follows:

Macy's Go Red Thalia $89.50

  • Thalia & Kensie dresses – Kenwood and Tri County stores
  • Calvin Klein – Kenwood and Fountain Place stores

Something you might notice is that one of the dresses that benefits Go Red is a new line by Thalia Sodi launching on February 2. This collection is launching with apparel, accessories and shoes and was designed with the curvy woman in mind. (I’m told that it fits completely different than most other lines you’ll find out there in the market…. I ordered one to wear at the show, so we shall see! I’m excited to try it out!) In the Cincinnati market it will be offered at Macy’s Kenwood and Tri County stores – that’s 2 stores out of a total of 6 in the entire state of Ohio to carry the line! It also is available on macys.comClick here to see what the collection looks like.

Cincy Chic is celebrating American Heart Health Awareness month in style at our fifth annual “Lady in Red” event on February 9, held at Macy’s Fountain Place from 6-9 p.m. The event requires a red cocktail dress to be worn at their fashionable fundraiser for the American Heart Association. What a great cause to bring that red dress out and let it shine!

Any style cocktail dress is acceptable from a fun flare, sexy sequin, chic sheer, lacy love, mix and match to cute and cozy and much more, as long as it’s ravishing red! Glam it up with that red nail polish, red lipstick, jewelry, and a fun red oversized tote or clutch. Don’t forget about those fashionable feet, any heel looks great from a short and cute kitten heel, a thin and high stiletto, chunky pumps or a great looking wedge. Don’t have red heels? Don’t worry, let that red dress stand out and add some nude or black heels.  You’ll be red hot on that red carpet!

All proceeds from the fundraising activities benefit the American Heart Association “Go Red for Women” campaign.

Cincy Chic Celebrates Heart Health Awareness Month with “Lady in Red” Event

Online women’s publication holds fashionable fundraiser for heart health awareness

Cincy Chic is painting the town red in the name of heart health on February 9! The online women’s publication is teaming up with the American Heart Association for its fifth annual “Lady in Red” event, which promises record-breaking attendance.

This fashionable fundraiser, which will attract 700-1000 attendees, will be held at Macy’s Fountain Place from 6-9 p.m. on February 9. Guests will celebrate heart health in red cocktail attire, while enjoying red cocktails, light bites, and several fun-filled fundraising activities. There will also be a “Go-Red”-inspired fashion show by Macy’s and Mi Salon Spa.

“As the Go Red For Women campaign enters its 10th year, the movement has made huge strides in the health of women across the country,” says Lori Fovel of the Go Red For Women campaign. “In fact, statistics show that women who joined the Go Red movement, made at least one positive change in their health–whether it be losing weight, increasing their exercise, or quitting smoking. Locally, Greater Cincinnati is showing the same positive results, thanks to great supporters like Cincy Chic. Through annual events like Lady in Red, we are able to reach a large demographic of women to raise awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women.”

“Heart disease is the number one killer of American women—but it doesn’t have to be,” says Amy Scalia, publisher of Cincy Chic. “As a women’s publication, we’re leveraging our community of 22,000 local ladies to learn about heart health awareness at a fun and fashionable affair.”

Tickets for this event are $10 per person, and includes two drink tickets, complimentary swag bag, and a 20% discount at Macy’s. All proceeds from the fundraising activities and silent auction will benefit the American Heart Association “Go Red for Women” campaign.  Learn more, RSVP and donate at cincychic.com/events.
