Fashion with Passion: NY-Style Fashion Show, Shopping Event Nov. 3!

fashion-with-passion-show

Last week, I went to my alma mater Miami University to speak to a class (and eat Bagel & Deli afterwards…. ahhh, love that place!) 🙂 Before I left, the professor mentioned an event coming up that I need to know about and it sounds FABULOUS!

It’s called “Fashion with Passion” and it’s going to be a  New York Style fashion show and shopping event to benefit Ohio Valley Voices, a Loveland-based a center for children with hearing loss that focuses on spoken language development.

It’ll be on Thursday, November 3, at the Manor House (7440 Mason Montgomery Rd, Mason, OH 45040). Boutique Shopping from 5-8pm, Dinner by the Bite from 6-7:30pm, and the Fashion Show at 8pm featuring clothing/accessories from Macy’s.

Click here to RSVP (and put “Cincy Chic” in the Comment Box upon registering, and you’ll receive a free stemless wine glass!)

Lady in Red Men’s Hair Recap

A few weeks ago, I posted a blog recapping the looks from our Lady in Red event because all the women’s hair looked SO amazing, but I have to say the men looked quite dapper too. I’ve been thinking I should recap those looks too (especially since a new men’s salon in town — called “18|8 Fine Men’s Salon” in Oakley — did all the grooming on  looks and you might want want to know about it… or at least just look at well-groomed man candy! haha!) We just did another event over the weekend with Marvin Lewis at 18|8 and it was AMAZING! Not only because the event had a bunch of beautiful exotic cars on an even more beautiful day (seriously with this weekend’s weather! loved it!) but they also donated all proceeds from services that day to the Marvin Lewis Community Fund! Check out pics from that event here! My hubby and father-in-law got a straight razor shave at the event and LOVED it. Definitely send the men in your life to this place! It’s awesome!

Lady in Red Fashion Show Hair

hair

We’ve done recaps on events before… about how many attendees came, how much we raised, etc. But I’ve never done one solely dedicated to the hair in the fashion show. That’s about to change because the hair in Friday’s Lady in Red fashion show was OFF. THE. HOOK.

I seriously had to go off script during the event to give props to the amazing hair styles I saw coming down that runway. The best part about it is that the hair was done by STUDENTS at Paul Mitchell The School!

They seriously do a phenomenal job (clearly), so if you ever need a new ‘do, definitely consider stopping in. Everyone there is so accommodating and friendly, and their work speaks for itself.

I was completely blown away. If you weren’t at the event, check out these pictures so you can see why I’m obsessing over them right now!

Click here to RSVP and learn more!

Now…. wondering what to wear to Lady in Red? Macy’s has three very special dresses to help answer that question for you!

From February 4th – 16th 10% of the purchase price of three exclusive red dresses by Kensie, Thalia and Calvin Klein as well as exclusive Go Red Ideology active wear available in select stores and online at Macys.com will go to benefit Go Red For Women®!

The dresses and Ideology line are available in the Cincinnati area as follows:

Macy's Go Red Thalia $89.50
Macy’s Go Red Thalia $89.50
  • Thalia & Kensie dresses – Kenwood and Tri County stores
  • Calvin Klein – Kenwood and Fountain Place stores

Something you might notice is that one of the dresses that benefits Go Red is a new line by Thalia Sodi launching on February 2. This collection is launching with apparel, accessories and shoes and was designed with the curvy woman in mind. (I’m told that it fits completely different than most other lines you’ll find out there in the market…. I ordered one to wear at the show, so we shall see! I’m excited to try it out!) In the Cincinnati market it will be offered at Macy’s Kenwood and Tri County stores – that’s 2 stores out of a total of 6 in the entire state of Ohio to carry the line! It also is available on macys.comClick here to see what the collection looks like.

Customers may also show their support by purchasing a newly designed 2015 Red Dress pin for $2 (February 4-16, 2015) to receive the same offer. Macy’s will donate 100% of all Red Dress pin sales to Go Red For Women®.

Check out the video below from last year’s Lady in Red event! Hope to see you and your little red dress at the event next Friday!

Buy Something Beautiful…for Your Sister Fundraising Event!

In January this year, we wrote a story in Cincy Chic about The Sister Accord (click here to read it) and the local jewelry designer, Lisa Robin Jewelry, who was inspired to launch a new line of jewelry for it! Ever since then, I’ve been keeping up with The Sister Accord and wanting to get involved!

In a nutshell, The Sister Accord works with girls and young women to build healthy relationships to eradicate bullying and violence. As a new mom to a little girl, I couldn’t be more proud of what they’re doing for the community and our little ladies in particular.

So, when Sonia, the founder of The Sister Accord, needed our help to get the word out about her upcoming “Buy Something Beautiful…for Your Sister”  Fundraising Event, I jumped at the chance! It’s on Nov. 9 at Macy’s downtown and there are LOTS of perks for attendees (including a 25% store-wide discount!!!). Plus it’s for a really great cause. You can click here to RSVP for the event and go to www.thesisteraccord.com to learn more about this AMAZING organization doing such great things for our next generation! TheSisterAccord
