Review: Bleux Water Spa in Mariemont

This weekend, I enjoyed  a MUCH-needed R&R day at the new Bleux Water Spa in Mariemont. I can honestly say it’s the most unique spa I’ve been into in the Greater Cincinnati area. All the services use fresh mineral water directly from the spring and aquifer the spa sits on!

I got a 60-minute massage (after which you soak in a mineral water bath and drink cucumber-infused mineral water so you’re getting all the nutrients internally and through your pores.

Wondering what the actual benefits of mineral water are? There are a ton, from what I learned, but the biggest ones are that it’s higher in magnesium and silica so it helps with achy muscles and skin elasticity. It also helps with heart regulation and preventing the absorption of hard metals, but they had me at easing my new-mom achy muscles and looking forever young! haha! 🙂

And in addition to the awesome mineral water spa services, I also loved the spa itself. It looked like a Montana lodge with lots of luxe, yet shabby chic, touches. I even loved the vintage china they served their coffee in!

I’ve only seen mineral water spas in California so it’s nice to have one here now! Bleux Water Spa is located at 7257 Wooster Pike Cincinnati, Ohio, and you can click here to like them on Facebook!

Sara Benjamin’s Sold to New Owner

Me with Lori Tazner, the founder of Sara Benjamin’s

A few hours ago, Lori Tazner, the founder of Sara Benjamin’s – a women’s fashion boutique in Mariemont – announced that ownership of the store is changing hands. Tazner posted the below heart-felt message to Facebook to update her friends, family and clients of the change. I’m sad that I’ll no longer get to work with Lori in the future (we actually just worked together on the 2012 Bras with Flair on the Square fashion show), but I wish her all the best and hope to meet the new owner soon!

I am excited to announce that effective today, Friday, January 18th, Amie Fanta is the new owner of Sara Benjamin’s. Amie is one of our own, and in her capable hands the store will continue to be a special, customer-focused, quality boutique for our many loyal customers and business associates. I know that the relationships and partnerships we have built will continue to thrive and grow!

I would like to personally thank the SB family of employees, customers, and our vendor representatives, for their friendship and loyalty. To the women I have had the privilege of working with over these past 8 1/2 years, thank you for being absolutely THE MOST talented, bright, dedicated, fiercely loyal, service-minded, and beautiful group of women that I have had the pleasure and honor of knowing. A very special thank you to Lauren Carr, my store manager, who has worked by my side with such passion and dedication; she has been my business partner, my memory, and my “other half” 🙂

It has been an amazing journey, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to meet people who I would have never met — my SB girls, customers who have been so supportive, sales reps that have been so kind, and many that have become dear friends. We truly are a family, without which, the store could not have become the community landmark that it is today. I know that Sara Benjamin’s will continue to provide outstanding quality, selection and service with the utmost integrity, sincerity and enthusiasm.

Thank you ALL for being a part of this remarkable experience!!

Night in White Recap, Krombholz Survey

Me and Lori Tanzer, owner of Sara Benjamin's, at the 2012 Night in White event

This year’s Night in White event was AMAZING! The best one yet! There was even a downpour, but that didn’t dampen our fun! We had a huge crowd inside and out (where we had a big party tent, dance floor, and live band). The fashion show was inside, and it was incredible! I loved all the looks – so full of color!!

Model Sierra Hensley in a Coral One Shoulder dress by Halsto Heritage from Sara Benjamin's, and an emerald and diamond ring from the Krombholz Jewelers brand called Just Like You Designs.

We’ll have the official numbers in shortly, but it’s looking like we raised more than $4,000 for the Eight Days & One Hour Foundation’s Stephen Morsch Nursing Scholarship, which was our beneficiary of the evening! Woohoo!

The Enquirer snapped some awesome pics as they covered the event – click here to check out the album. And attendees created their own Kodak Moments in our photo booth (I loved all the props this year!) – click here to see those! We’ll have photos from our photographer up on our site by Monday, so stay tuned to cincychic.com for those!

We did a sneak peek of the event on Fox19 – featuring all the latest fashion trends for this Spring from Sara Benjamin’s (our fashion show sponsor this year) – so make sure you check out that video below. Also below is the interview I did on WLWT about the foundation, scholarship and why Cincy Chic does this event each year!

Oh, and before I sign off, I do want to mention that Krombholz Jewelers is doing a jewelry survey, and one participant will win an iPad 3! Click here to take the survey! Good luck – hope you win the iPad! If you do, you have to promise to check out Cincy Chic and my blog alllll the time, ok?! 🙂
