As a good westside native, I should have been into Peppe Ramundo & Son on Glenway Ave. by now, but last week was my first visit. A friend of mine told me I should check them out — said they had a lot of cool gift items for guys and they do alterations/tailoring for men and women. So, I popped by not knowing what to expect (I had previously thought they only did tux rentals). Boy, do they do the tux rentals! I got to see their entire upstairs area where they house all their rental inventory (hint: It’s a LOT of inventory!) but it’s also where they do all their custom work. I sat down with the owner Carmen Ramundo to learn more about how the business got started nearly 50 years ago by his dad, how he grew up with it and eventually took over. Pretty fascinating! I was really impressed, found some great gifts for the hubs, and I’ll definitely be back for some of the custom work! Check out the video to learn more!

Lady in Red Men’s Hair Recap
A few weeks ago, I posted a blog recapping the looks from our Lady in Red event because all the women’s hair looked SO amazing, but I have to say the men looked quite dapper too. I’ve been thinking I should recap those looks too (especially since a new men’s salon in town — called “18|8 Fine Men’s Salon” in Oakley — did all the grooming on looks and you might want want to know about it… or at least just look at well-groomed man candy! haha!) We just did another event over the weekend with Marvin Lewis at 18|8 and it was AMAZING! Not only because the event had a bunch of beautiful exotic cars on an even more beautiful day (seriously with this weekend’s weather! loved it!) but they also donated all proceeds from services that day to the Marvin Lewis Community Fund! Check out pics from that event here! My hubby and father-in-law got a straight razor shave at the event and LOVED it. Definitely send the men in your life to this place! It’s awesome!
Staff Pamper Night at Alba Organic Beauty Studios!

It’s been a crazy year here at Cincy Chic! In January we celebrated eight years since launching (yes, EIGHT!!!), but since Lola was so little, and my right-hand-woman Stephanie also just had a baby, we delayed our annual staff outing.
In the past, we’ve done limo rides, shopping sprees, and fancy dinners. But I think after introducing two humans into the world, and the staff absorbing our responsibilities while we recovered, all anyone really wanted to do was spend a day at the spa.

During my pregnancy, I tried to go organic with everything from the foods I ate to the beauty products I used. I started spending a lot of time at Alba Organic Beauty Studios in Hyde Park and LOVED it. So, naturally that was the first place I wanted to go for the staff night.
When I called, they were amazing with all the planning of services and working around our schedules. They even did our nail services in the private studio space next door so we could all be in the same room getting our manis and pedis done! This would be a great place to take a bridal party to get primped before the big day! They also just got a liquor license, so you don’t have to worry about bringing anything — you can just order it there! (I suggest the Moscow Mule! Delish!)
We all got facials, massages, manis and pedis (and our dapper dude Drew got a new ‘do we’re DYING over!). Everyone love love loved it, so I wanted to do a post to give props and recommend them if you have a group you want to take to a spa/salon. Alba is the place to go! Oh, and they also share good deals if you “like” them on Facebook!
