Recap: “Shop for a Cause” at A Village Gift Shop

On Oct. 21, Cincy Chic hosted a “Shop for a Cause” event at A Village Gift Shop in Glendale to benefit the Pink Ribbon Girls. My friend Diane owns the store and she’s AWESOME to work with.

She’ll host a shopping event with anyone who’d like to, where she provides refreshments and a fab shopping experience (she has the BEST gifts and accessories!). You provide the people, and then she gives a portion of all sales from the night to a charity of your choice at the end of the night! It’s so easy!

We did something similar last year and it was a big success. This year, we wanted to do something that directly helps local breast cancer survivors during breast cancer awareness month. So, Diane and I put together this idea to partner with PRG (a great organization if you don’t know about them already — they provide house cleaning, meals… all the necessities of life… to local breast cancer survivors and their families, while they undergo treatments).

From the event, we were able to raise $350 for PRG and they got some GREAT exposure, too! Not only did they get to share with all our attendees some info about their organization, but they also got to promote on Q102, who was there at our event!

Make sure you “like” A Village Gift Shop on Facebook so you can find out about other fun events they’re hosting in the future! And give them a call at (513) 771-3927 if you’re interested in holding a charity shopping event with them! I definitely recommend it!

Knickers of Hyde Park Pink Party!

Knickers of Hyde Park will be hosting the first-ever KHP Pink Party on November 1 from 7-10pm.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Pink Ribbon Girls. The party will feature shopping, free gifts and raffles at Knickers of Hyde Park with music, food and mingling next door at Awakenings Cafe.

As breast cancer awareness month comes to a close, the KHP Pink Party will be all about encouraging breast cancer awareness and promoting women’s self-health including self-examinations, annual mammograms and properly fitted bras to support women in prevention, recovery and life beyond breast cancer!

Admission is $20 and with every admission guests will receive a raffle ticket for a special Dhani Jones silver BowTie necklace and a MARA panty. The hand-made BowTie necklaces will also be for sale at the party.

Tracie Metzger, the founder of the Pink Ribbon Girls (who we just wrote about here in Cincy Chic!), will also be joining the group as a special guest for her empowerment of women and support of breast cancer awareness.

You’re encouraged to wear cocktail attire for the fun night out …and pink will be even better!
