The Carnegie Galleries is celebrating the glamorous world of hair with two must-see runway shows! The show is presented by Wella Professionals and will feature stylists from top salons throughout the tri-State. The Art of Hair will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 12 at The Carnegie’s Otto M. Budig Theatre.
The show will highlight 17 salons with hairstyles inspired by Carnivale, the Roaring Twenties, Alice in Wonderland, the Renaissance and many more! More than 700 people are expected to attend the show which is co-chaired by Lisa Herman, own of CoCo Creative Wellness Salon and Jeffrey van Sluys, senior stylist at Salon Urbanity.
There will be light bites courtesy of Jeff Thomas Catering following the Art of Hair as well as the opportunity to enjoy “Take It From Me,” the first major retrospective exhibition of work by late local artist Ron Thomas as well as five additional exhibitions on display in The Carnegie’s six galleries.
Tickets for the show are $25 for Carnegie members and $35 for non-members. Each ticket will include an assigned seat to one runway show that will last 45 minutes each, refreshments in the main gallery and a cash bar.
